Light fired magnesia powder is made by roasting magnesite at a temperature below 1000℃, which plays a role in metallurgy, chemical industry, light industry, agriculture, mining, environmental protection and other industries. Light fired magnesia is an important part of the raw materials needed for the production of magnesia products. Light fired magnesia ball is the active magnesia produced by calcining magnesite. The ability of magnesium oxide to carry out physical adsorption and chemical reaction is known as the activity of magnesium oxide, which has a very significant impact on the production process and quality of the product. Two - step calcination method is used to calcinate light - fired magnesia to produce sintered magnesia.

Light burning magnesium oxide is commonly known as light burning powder, light burning magnesium oxide, also known as caustic magnesium oxide, often in white, pale yellow shape. Its melting point and boiling point are 2852℃ and 3600℃ respectively. It is easily dissolved in acid and ammonium salts, but not easily dissolved in organic solvents such as ethanol. It is a hard cementing material that is easy to be delixed in the air. With a mass fraction of more than 98% of the sample is called high purity magnesium oxide, because of its excellent alkaline resistance, insulation resistance, light transmission in high temperature environment, and has a relatively large coefficient of thermal expansion and excellent thermal conductivity and other advantages, it is widely used in electronics, ceramics, chemical industry and other aspects.


At present, the production of light fired magnesia is mostly made of 20 ~ 100mm lumpiness of magnesite by calcining at 700 ~ 1200℃. Due to the different decomposition rate of MgCO3 and the state of MgO development, the activity will also be different. Its activity lies in the content of active magnesium oxide in light fired magnesium oxide, and its physical adsorption and chemical reactivity depend on it. Because of this, whether the activity can be accurately measured directly affects the production and application of light fired magnesia in practice.
